LWA Committee changes
As well as welcoming Shipi and Aldous, we paid tribute to Ali Nooruddin who’s stepping down after six much appreciated years as LWA Treasurer. As we said at the AGM, new members are welcome; we only meet 2-3 times a year so get in touch.
Councillor Brighty reports from the recent post mortem of the summer music event; residents’ concerns will be addressed next year by monitoring to reduced noise levels and better communication prior.
National Neighbourhood Watch and Crimestoppers hope you can spend three minutes completing their short online survey to assess awareness of how to combat abuse. Click here to access the survey.
20mph Speed Limit
You’ll have noticed Lewisham’s lower speed limit, on roads through Blackheath, Lee etc this past year. Police have been seen enforcing this with mobile cameras; be warned!
The Big Half Marathon 2018
The local Council for Voluntary Service alerts us to a new half marathon on Sunday March 4th next year; an opportunity for local charities to fundraise, with opportunity to run less than the full distance from Tower Bridge through the east end and back, finishing in Greenwich with “Big Festival” events; www.thebighalf.co.uk

Additional bus service announced (108a)
Latest update on the additional bus service can be found here
TfL has acknowledged that there is an issue with both frequency and capacity on the 108 route and they would seek to address this issue.
TfL are currently doing the costings for putting an additional bus on the 108 route at rush hour, they will consider running this bus on a ‘half service’ running between Lewisham and North Greenwich. In the more long-term TfL have agreed to look into the possibility of running a new Kidbrooke Village to North Greenwich route once that development is complete and demand can be assessed accurately.
Although this is a start there is more to be done which is why we need to boost the number of people who have signed this petition. Please sign the petition or share it with your friends and followers to help increase rush-hour capacity:
